Superstitions most often spread among people who have not received an education or have a low level of knowledge and culture, which ultimately leads a person to delusion and ignorance.
Zebiniso Turakulova, born in 1962, a resident of the Jabor Rasulov District in Sughd Region, had previously been detained for fraudulent actions related to witchcraft and fortune-telling and had been held administratively liable. However, she did not draw the proper conclusions and resumed fortune-telling and magical rituals.
According to the investigation, the woman used various objects and attributes to perform deceptive rituals and mislead people.
Due to the repeated commission of such actions after serving an administrative penalty, a criminal case has been initiated against Turakulova under Supplement 1 of Article 240 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The investigation is ongoing.
