Meeting of heads of criminal divisions of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of CIS Member States
May 13, 2026, а delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by First Deputy Minister, Colonel-General of militia Alamshozoda Abdurakhmon Alamsho, arrived in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, to participate in the meeting of heads of criminal (operational) divisions of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of CIS member states on the topic: “New Challenges and Threats in the Field of Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs in the CIS Member States.”
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation, as well as the Director of the Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes in the CIS Member States (BCCO).
At the beginning of the event, the delegations were welcomed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant-General Tashpulatov Aziz Anvarovich, who officially opened the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the exchange of best practices and the introduction of innovative approaches in combating illegal drug trafficking in CIS member states, their practical application by law enforcement agencies, and the implementation of coordinated measures regarding internet service providers and other online platforms used for the distribution of narcotic drugs.
Additionally, the parties discussed the development of software and technical tools, the exchange of practical experience among personnel of anti-narcotics units, as well as the draft Action Plan for the development of cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of CIS member states.
As a result of the meeting, decisions were adopted aimed at strengthening collective efforts to counter modern threats and challenges in the field of illegal drug trafficking, as well as improving preventive measures.
