During an operational search, police detained a 28-year-old Dushanbe resident on suspicion of extortion.
On November 5, 2025, the man registered on Instagram and met a 29-year-old woman from Dushanbe. Between December 2025 and January 27, 2026, he threatened to disseminate her photos on Instagram and dishonor her family. He then demanded 3,700 somoni from her, an “IPHONE-14” mobile phone worth 8,000 somoni, and several gold jewelry worth 12,000 somoni using a «Dushanbe-City» bank card.
The damage amounted to 23,700 somoni.
An investigation is underway.
