INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE ALLIANCE AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS IN VIENNA
The 25th International Conference "Alliance Against Trafficking in Persons" was held in the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria, from March 31 to April 1, 2025. The conference was organized and hosted by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
At the event, Tajikistan was represented by the Head of the Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Militia Colonel Shokhimardonzoda Sobir Rahmatullo and the Operational Commissioner of the Center, Senior Militia Lieutenant Umar Usmonzoda.
More than 58 OSCE member states, representatives of international organizations, specialists - experts in the field of combating human trafficking and other public organizations took part in the conference.
It should be noted that the Conference on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings is an annual high-level meeting of stakeholders from the OSCE regions, the purpose of which is to raise the political level of combating human trafficking and discuss new topics and trends in this area. This time, the main topic of the conference was devoted to combating child trafficking.
Industry experts expressed their opinion on the importance of preventing child trafficking, noting that OSCE member states need to launch a public process to eliminate child trafficking in order to promote coverage and multilateral cooperation. During the conference, Militia Colonel Shokhimardonzoda S.R., regarding the achievements of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the measures taken to reduce the level of crime related to children, their involvement in forced labor and other types of exploitation, spoke on the topics of "Protecting Children and Creating a Bright Future" and "Appeal to Stop Child Trafficking", called on the participants of the event and the world community to collectively counteract.
