On August 21, 2024, at approximately 22:40, the driver an Opel Vectra vehicle, the man, born in 1983, a resident of Dushanbe, while moving from Istaravshan towards Khujand on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway, in the territory of J. Rasulov district, lost control and crashed into a Hyundai Porter van driven by a man, born in 1983, a resident of the Devashtich district.
As a result, the passenger of the Hyundai Porter van, the man, born in 1970, a resident of the Devashtich district, died at the spot of the accident.
The driver of this pickup truck and another passenger, the man, born in 1993, a resident of the Devashtich district, and the driver of the Opel Vectra, received serious bodily injuries and were hospitalized. 
An investigation is underway into the accident.
