On May 23, 2024, as part of the visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel-General of Militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Eyvazov Vilayat Suleyman oglu.

During the meeting, the important issue of detention and extradition to Tajikistan of wanted criminals was discussed.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation, preventing and effectively combating terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrimes, as well as information exchange and labor migration.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General of Militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, noted that such meetings bring fruitful results and create more opportunities for the development of friendly relations and cooperation.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
