The National Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe is among the ten best museums of the history and culture of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States for visits and virtual tours, online tours and exhibitions. This was reported by the tourist portal "TurStat".

So, according to the source, the first five museums of history and culture in the CIS included: the State Historical Museum in Moscow, the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk and the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh", the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Nur Sultan and the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
The top ten museums are completed by the National Museum of the History of Azerbaijan in Baku, the Museum of the History of Armenia in Yerevan, the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, the National Museum of the History of Moldova in Chisinau and the National Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
It should be recalled that the National Museum of Tajikistan was founded by Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2011. The total area of the museum is 24 thousand m2, of which 15 thousand m2 are intended for exposure. The museum has 22 exhibition halls that show the history of the Tajik people.
There are 4 exposition departments for visitors: nature, ancient, ancient and medieval history, modern and recent history, applied and fine art.
In the department of nature you can see a stone tree made of precious stones of Tajikistan. Its height is 3 m 40 cm, it weighs 600 kg, has 19 thousand 536 leaves. The department presents dioramas that reflect the fauna of the Pamirs, Tigrovaya Balka, as well as the areas of Childukhtaron and Dashtijum.
In the department of ancient, ancient and medieval history, you can see the monuments of the Stone Age, the settlements of Sarazm and other historical exhibits.
In the round hall, which is located on the first floor of the museum, guests can visit the Ajina Teppa Buddhist Monastery.
